She wore his (and her) favorite green dress and walked hand in hand down the path. It was a beautiful evening in Albuquerque’s bosque with Janelle and Julius. This sweet couple has been together for years and has decided to tie the knot in Pagosa Springs this summer because they love how beautiful it is there. This fun-loving and adventurous duo dated all through college, and the joke was that once Julius graduated he would propose. Amidst all the bustle of the graduation festivities, this slipped Janelle’s mind and Julius was able to surprise her with a sweet proposal. One thing that really struck me in my time working with these two is the way they love to laugh together. They find joy in the simple things and have such fun banter together. I did not have to do much to get them smiling and laughing in front of my camera, their comfort together made the engagement session effortless. I took these two on quite the walk through the Bosque looking for new spots to photograph, because this crazy New Mexico weather flooded my usual location. During our conversation, I found that they have the best taste in TV shows. Anytime I am able to work with people that appreciate the spontaneity of Kramer and the dysfunction of George (Seinfeld…if you didn’t catch it) is a great time.
I absolutely loved working with Janelle and Julius and am so excited to photograph their upcoming Colorado wedding. Their laid back style and effortless charm made this session one for the books!
